Simplon Pass, Switzerland

The gently gradiented Simplon Pass links Domodossola in North West Italy with Brig in South West Switzerland.  Apart from the stunning surrounding scenery, the Swiss have described it as "among one of the most beautiful crossings in the alps".
 
While crossing the alps on a road trip, and upon seeing the gorgeous light, colours and cloud composition, I was able to stop and capture the scene.
