The Clifton Suspension Bridge was opened in 1864 and was originally designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, although he died before it was completed. Standing 75m above the River Avon and spanning just over 214m between Clifton and Leigh Woods, this bridge is a real icon of Bristol. Each year, if the weather is right, the hot air balloons from the Bristol Balloon Fiesta fly overhead and fill the sky with colour!
